最近台湾へ行きました。そこでシンガポールの仲間に会いました。一年間親友に会えなかったから、本当に嬉しかったです。台北はやっぱりいいところでした。おいしい中華料理店があるし、物が安いし、天気も暖かかったです！台湾は日本の影響を受けたので、道が時々日本みたいでした。日本でたくさんの本を読みたいんですが、私の日本語のレベルが低いので、読めません。でも台湾でたくさん日本の本が翻訳されています。台湾で安藤忠雄についての本を買ってきました。あの本が安藤忠雄先生のことを教えてくれました。安藤忠雄先生は本当にすばらし人です。先生は自分で建築学を勉強しました。辛抱強いし、勤勉だし、優秀なだ人と思います。もし台湾へもう一度行くことができれば、本屋へ行きたいです。私にとって台湾の旅で印象的なことは何だと思いますか？

Recently, I made a trip to Taiwan. In Taiwan, I met up with a very good friend mine. It had been almost a year since I met her, so I was really glad to see her!

I really like Taiwan. There was plenty of delicious Chinese food, cheap shopping and warm weather. I guess because of Taiwan’s historical ties with Japan, some of its streets felt very Japan-like.

In Japan, there were many books which I wanted to read. One of them was biography of Takao Ando, a self taught architect. I found the book translated into Chinese in the ESlite bookstore. I learned a lot about Ando-sensei from his book. I think he’s truly an amazing person. He managed to study architecture on his own (My sister studied architecture in university for more than 5 yrs!). I’ll probably write another post about him another time.

Anyway, I hope to go to the bookstores again when I visit Taiwan again. I didn’t do much sightseeing in Taiwan, mainly a lot of eating and shopping. Top 3 impressions….

１. まず台湾人はしゃべるのが上手です！テレビでインタビュー番組や討論番組がたくさんあります。

The Taiwanese can speak very, very well. There were so many talk shows on television.

2. 台湾のシフェン村で天灯を飛ばしました。天灯に自分の願いを書いて、そして飛ばしました。２０１３年に楽しく、嬉しく過ごせるといいです。

We wrote our wishes on the sky lantern and released it. I hope that I can happily enjoy 2012. 🙂

3. アーリ山で感動的な雲海を見られました。夕焼けの時、雲海の上がオレンジや赤色に輝きました。あの眺めはすばらしかったです。最高でした。

We saw a beautiful sea of clouds and sunset at Alishan. As the sun set, the orange and red sun rays shone onto the clouds. It was a moving sight.

２０１２の最後の旅でしたが、来年もいろいろな経験をしたいです！がんばります！

This marks the last overseas trip of 2012. I hope that I will continue to have new and interesting experiences in 2013. Fighting!!

青春１８旅ー宮島

最近とてもいそがしので、長い間にブログを書かなかった。これは青春１８旅最後の話です。宮島へ行った時、天気がすごくよがった。行く前に、インタネットで高潮の時間を調べて、日程を決めました。さすが宮島、観光者が多いでした。宮島と言えば、紅葉まんじゅうが有名なお土産です。宮島で紅葉まんじゅうを買って、やまと宅急便で職場に送りました。同僚は紅葉まんじゅうを見ると、嬉しいそうでした。

宮島に鹿がたくさんいます。でもちょっと変なことを目を向きました。鹿たちは紙とプラシックが食べるのが好きです！パスポットはずいぶん気をつけました。でもお土産の袋は鹿に食べられました！

青春１８旅ー尾道

直島に出たあとで、直接尾道へ行きました。夜１０時ぐらいに着きました。早くチェクインして、やすみました。次の日早く起きて、尾道の観光をはきめました。尾道といえば、古寺めぐりと文学のこみち　として有名です。日本の文学あまり知っていないので、古寺めぐりへいきました。尾道の道は狭くて傾斜するものが多です。尾道の独特道はよく映画のロケションとして使われました。例えば、「時をかける少女」に尾道見たいの道が見えます。

After we left Naoshima, we headed straight for Onomichi. We arrived there at 10p.m. We quickly checked in and rested for the night. The next morning, we woke up early and began our sightseeing. Onomichi is famous for its “Temple Walk” and “Literature Walk”. As we didn’t know much about Japanese Literature, we chose to do the “Temple Walk”. The streets in Onomichi were very unique. They were narrow and steep. There were also many slopes. Because of the unique look of the streets, Onomichi has been featured in many movies. For example, in the animation “The Girl who Leaped Through Time”, the long and steep street featured in the animation was inspired by Onomichi.

そして、途中にロープウェイで千光寺公園行きました。展望台からすごい景色が見えます。

Along the way, we took the ropeway to the Senkouji Temple, on top of a hill. The view from the observation deck was beautiful.

最終は「猫の細道」でした。友達のブログに読むと、この道を教えてくれました。尾道には町のあちこちに千匹以上の福石猫が隠れています。

Our last stop was the “Cat Walk”. I found out about this walk from a friend’s blog. In Onomichi, there are thousands of “cat rocks” hidden in the streets of Onomichi. The “Cat Walk” street has a higher concentration of these “cat rocks”.

一日の尾道散歩が楽しかった！

青春１８旅ー直島, 地中美術館 Naoshima, Chichu Art Museum

直嶋に最後のストプは地中美術館でした。地中美術館は安藤忠雄によってデザインされました。この美術館の特徴は自然光使って、あまり電灯をつかいません。地中美術館へ行ってはじめて、安藤忠雄の作品を気があるになりました。地中美術館と言えば、モーネの「睡蓮」として人気があります。日程は直島に三つのサイトへ行くのはぎりぎりので、もし機会があったら、もう一回へいったほうがいいとおもいます。　その時直島近いの島もいきたいです。犬島とか。。なんかいろいろな面白い作品あるそう。。。

Our last stop in Naoshima was the Chichu Art Museum. It was designed by Ando Tado. The unique feature of this art museum is that it utilizing natural lighting instead of lamps/lights in the museum. It was until I came to Chichu Museum that I became very interested in Ando Tado’s works. The museum is most famous of housing Monet’s “Water Lilies” masterpiece.

It was a little rushed to visit three sites in a day. Given another chance, I hope to visit Naoshima again, and hopefully the nearby islands, such as Inujima, too. There seems to be many interesting artworks there, too.

The second area in Naoshima which I visited was the Benesse House. The Benesse House is a modern art museum located on top of a hill. There are also many art pieces displayed in the area near the Benesse House.

次は直島にベネッセハウスへ行きました。ベネッセハウスは丘の上にたてた現代美術館です。ベネッセハウスの周りにたくさんのアート作品を見られます。

青春１８の旅　ー(1) 岡山、直島 Seishun 18 Trip- (1) Okayama, Naoshima

I wasn’t planning to go on any long trips this summer because I was supposed to be saving money. But, heck. It was so boring at work that I decided to take a “short” trip. In August and December, the JR train company offers a special train ticket, called the “Seishun 18 Kippu”. This ticket allows for unlimited JR train travel in any part of Japan for five days. The ticket costs about 11,500 yen. Of course, there is a catch. You are only allowed to take local trains. This means, you cannot take any limited express or bullet trains. This ticket can be shared among a few people as well. You can read more about it here.

お金を貯めるに今年の夏にどこでも行かないと思いました。でも、つまらないので、短いの旅へ行くことにしました。８月と１２月に、JR鉄道会社から青春１８という特別切符を買えます。この切符を持って、日本全国のＪＲの普通列車に乗り放題です。新幹線や特急電車に乗れません。この切符は五人人まで、使えます。

When my teachers heard that I was going to use the Seishun 18 ticket, they all said, “Wakaii desu ne…” (You are young…) The reason being “young people” can endure the long traveling time.

先生たちは私の青春１８旅のことを聞いた、全部「若いですね。。」と言いました。理由は若者は長い通勤時間ががまんができます。

So, this was my rough schedule.

これは日程でした。

1. Toyama to Okayama 　富山〜岡山

2. Okayama to Naoshima　　岡山〜直島

3. Naoshima to Onomichi 　　直島〜尾道

4. Onomichi to Hiroshima　尾道〜広島

5. Hiroshima to Miyajima Island　広島〜宮島

6. Hiroshima to Toyama　広島〜富山

The first train ride was pretty EPIC. There were heavy rains in Kansai so many trains were delayed. Instead of taking eight hours to get to Okayama, we took more than 12 hours. We were in the trains from 6am till 10pm. When we got to Okayama, we were ready to kiss the ground. After checking in, we went to get dinner. Ramen never tasted so good!
最初の往路はすごく大変だった。多い雨のため、電車はキャンセルをしたり、遅れました。予定は８時間をかかりますが、実際は１２時間をかかりました。朝６時から、夜１０時まで、ずっと電車にいました。岡山に着いた、本当に床をキスしたかった！チエックインをした、夕食をたべました。

The next morning, we got up early (No time to waste!) and headed towards Naoshima. Naoshima is an island in Kagawa Prefecture which in recent years have been developed to become an art site. There are many contemporary art museums there. To get to Naoshima, we needed to take a ferry from Uno.

明くる日、早くを起きて　（時間もったいない！）、直島へ行きました。直島というは香川県に有名な島のことです。近年、直島はだんだん開発されました。たくさん美術館を建てされました。直島に行く時、宇野からフェリを乗れなければならない。

There are various art sites around the island. Our first stop was the Art House Project site. In this area, old village houses are being converted into art spaces showcasing various artworks and installations.

直島に様々なアートエリーアがあります。最初は家プロジェクトエリーアへ行きました。このエリーアに、古い家は展示場になりました。
